I was probably the biggest band dork you could imagine throughout highschool, and I use this as a statement of introduction, because for more than six years,I defined myself by it.

My weapon of choice:The Tenor Trombone
My greatest, most extensive,anything-you-can-have-in-the-world dream :To work as a public school band director

Being an only-child from a town that fell within the 'small town' concept, I often appreciated the fact that my ultimate dream would be so easily obtained. I would go to a nearby school and simply work toward my degree. I didn't have far-fetched ideas involving Hollywood, musical FAME. I never wanted to be a movie star or even the desire to make millions. This career path had been my sole focus since the day in 7th grade that I looked up wide-eyed and drooly at my band director for the first time, flailing her arms to the rythmn of a clumsy, B flat scale warm up. It was then that I understood passion. But for some reason, I completely got over it during my senior year in high school. I still declared the music major and did a year of it before I was finally able to accept that I simply fell out of love. But boohoo. As tramatic as it was for me, I have now realized that I can start over and actually be anything I'd like to be. I don't think of the year as a music major as something I have wasted. I think of it was a factor in the culmination of what I will ultimatlely do with myself. And now...the shuffle of majors, career paths and thoughts of what to do. Let's see what's behind door #1, shall we?
